Dear Friends and Supporters,
As we celebrate our 15th year since founding in 2010 and our 11th year since incorporation in 2013, I am honored to reflect on the journey of the Sarah Robinson Group NFP and the incredible progress we have made together. Over the years, our organization has grown stronger and more impactful, thanks to the unwavering support of our community, volunteers, and partners.

Good Trouble Gala

Following the relaunch of the Sarah Robinson Group in late August 2024, several of our board members actively engaged in community networking by attending the Good Trouble Gala, where they were warmly welcomed by community leaders, politicians, and residents. They continued their efforts by participating in roundtable discussions in the South Suburbs, advocating for housing disparities in Harvey, Illinois, marching in domestic violence awareness walks, and connecting with the communities they aim to empower. These initiatives exemplify our commitment to active community involvement and advocacy.

Our first event since our relaunch, Spooky Conversations Mental Health Day was a resounding success, bringing together community members, mental health advocates, and supporters to foster open dialogue and reduce stigma around mental health. This year, we engaged in meaningful discussions, interactive activities, and resource sharing that empowered attendees to prioritize their well-being. We also received valuable feedback through post-event surveys, which will help us improve future initiatives. We are grateful for the enthusiastic participation and continued support, and we remain committed to creating a compassionate environment where mental health is prioritized and normalized.

CEO Superheroes

This past year, our partnership with CEO Superheroes Academy has been truly impactful. Together, we collaborated on several exciting projects, including Aviation Tech Day for students at School District 151, which introduced young minds to the world of aviation and technology. We also teamed up on youth golf programs aimed at teaching Black and Brown children about the opportunities in the sport, fostering confidence and new skills. Additionally, our weekly teen meetups provided a vital space for discussing mental health issues, while exposing teens to new skills and career pathways. These initiatives have helped us serve and empower our youth, and we look forward to continuing this meaningful partnership to create even more opportunities for growth and development.

A Mental Health Event

We hosted a compelling panel discussion titled “Dropping the Ball,” where we explored deeper issues surrounding mental health within our community. The session featured insightful perspectives from panelists including a representative from the Chicago Police Department CAPS program, a Mental Health Expert from Lotus Trauma Care, and our dedicated board member and nonprofit manager, Andrew Coleman. Together, they discussed challenges, shared experiences, and strategies for supporting mental health across diverse populations. The discussion fostered meaningful dialogue, increased awareness, and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to address mental health issues. We are grateful for the expertise and engagement of our panelists and attendees, which continues to advance our mission of promoting mental health and community well-being.

A Literacy Panel Discussion

We hosted a dynamic housing and finance panel discussion sponsored by the Chicago Sky at O’Rourke’s Office, featuring expert panelists from Coldwell Banker, Baird & Warner, and the Harvey Historic Society. The discussion provided valuable insights into the current housing market, financing options, and community development initiatives. Attendees gained practical knowledge on navigating real estate transactions, accessing resources, and preserving historic neighborhoods. The event fostered engaging dialogue among professionals and community members, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts to promote affordable housing and economic growth. We appreciate the participation of our panelists and attendees for making this event a success.

A Community Event

In May, the Sarah Robinson Group partnered with the Windfall Group to successfully manage the Art Tent at the AANHPI Festival, a vibrant celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander cultures. The event showcased live painting performances by talented local artists and featured an interactive button-making station, engaging youth and families in creative activities. Julian High School students volunteered, gaining valuable experience and contributing to the event’s success. This collaboration fostered community connection, cultural pride, and artistic expression, reaffirming SRG’s commitment to empowering youth and supporting local artists through meaningful cultural events.

A special thanks to your youth volunteers from Julian High School located on Chicago’s south side.
